The type of personal information we collect  

We currently collect and process the following information: 

  • Your full name. 

  • The organisation you work for. 

  • The role for which you are employed. 

  • Contact details at your place of employment, including phone number(s), address(es), e-mail address(es). 

  • How you have engaged with our website, including any responses to surveys, polls, voting options. 

 
How we get your personal information and why we collect it 

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons: 

  • You have made an enquiry to us. 

  • You wish to attend, or have attended, an event. 

  • You subscribe to our mailing list. 

  • You have submitted a response to the data readiness survey. 

  • You are representing your organisation through an engagement with us. 

  • You visit our website and consent to our use of cookies. 

 

We use the information that you have given us in order to: 

  • Respond to your enquiry. 

  • Facilitate and provide access to events you sign-up to. 

  • Send you subscription material. 

  • Collate, discuss and share back with you your data readiness survey results. 

  • Ensure our website is providing the best content and that user experience is optimised.

We may share this information with The Leigh Partnership and RUA Analytics as the legal entities making up the Connect-ed brand. This onward usage will be subject to the same privacy notice. 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: 

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting: hello@ed-connect.co.uk 

(b) We have a contractual obligation. 

(c) We have a vital interest. 

(d) We have a legitimate interest. 

 

How we store your personal information  

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. 

We keep your full name, the organisation you work for, the role for which you are employed, your contact details and your website data (usage and optional interactive tools) on secure servers (Wix and Microsoft).  

The owners of Connect-ed and website administrators have access to this information. Personal information will be deleted upon request.  

 

Your data protection rights 

Under data protection law, you have rights including: 

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.  

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.  

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.  

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.  

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. 

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
